Place loose-leaf tea in the cup (about 2g or one tablespoon); fill the cup with water (heated to the temperature appropriate for your tea); infuse for the desired time. Holding the lid and cup tightly together, tip the cup quickly on its side and, setting the cup/lid onto the bowl (with the "teeth" of the cup down in the bowl), and allow the infusion to drain into the bowl. Lift the cup/lid out of the bowl, and you are ready to drink your tea!
Good-quality tea leaves yield multiple delicious infusions... and you can be drinking from the bowl while setting up your next infusion. The built-in strainer "teeth" of the cup allow all the infusion to be poured off while the leaves stay conveniently in the cup.
When you have infused to your heart's content, take the strainer cup outside and empty it near the base of a favorite rose, hydrangea, or other happy plant -- the "instapost" (instant compost or mulch) is wonderful!
